V is for Vulture (preschool)

The girls had fun learning about vultures today. They enjoyed painting, puzzles, and games. We got our recourses for today from the V is for Vulture, Veterinarian & Vegetable Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Vulture Science

• I read the letter V from the Abeka Animal Friends Flashcards to learn more about the vultures. We watched Vicky Vulture Song to go with the card.
• We learned more about vultures by watching this Vulture Facts for Kids video.
• She also did her Vulture page from her Abeka Letters & Sounds for 3’s book.
• She counted 9 vulture chicks with her Abeka Numbers and Skills with Button Bear book.
• Then we watched the Wild Kratts Birds of Prey video.

Vulture Writing

• The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter V. My 3 year old had a capital V and lowercase v with tracing arrows, along with a vulture to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing V’s and v’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the V is for Vulture, Veterinarian & Vegetable Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

v is for vulture

• I printed this v is for vulture Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the lower case “v” for them to paint brown. After that dried they glued it to a piece of brown construction paper. Then I cut out the wings, head and feet for them to glue on.

Eight Vultures

• The girls each had a similar number 8 paper for counting vultures. My 3 year old had the number 8 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 8 vultures to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 8’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the V is for Vulture, Veterinarian & Vegetable Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Vulture Worksheets

• Then she practiced her cutting with her Order Vultures by Size paper. She glued them on in the order by their size.
• I printed out the Vulture Number Order paper. Then she cut the number vultures apart and glue them in the proper order above.

Vulture Color Match

• I printed out the Vulture Color Match game, and cut them out. I laminated them and the cut them again. Then we turned them all upside down and took turns flipping to try to find matching colors. They enjoyed this game, and did great taking turns.

Vulture Puzzle

• I printed out the Vulture Puzzle on cardstock and then laminated it so that we can use it over and over again. Then she got to put together the vulture.
