The girls had fun learning about trains today. They enjoyed jumping, puzzles, and colors. We got our recourses for today from the T is for Tiger, Telephone, and Train Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Train Learning
- We read from the Abeka Preschool Language Development Cards to learn more trains and transportation.
- We learned more about trains by watching Caitie’s Classroom Explore Trains with Caitie.
- We reviewed all of the sounds we have learned so far with the Abeka Alphabet Flashcards.

Train Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter T. My 3 year old had a capital T and lowercase t with tracing arrows, along with a train to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing T’s and t’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the T is for Tiger, Telephone, and Train Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Tis for Train
- I printed this T is for Train Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “T” for them to draw railroad tracks on. After that was done they glued it to a piece of brown construction paper. Then I cut out the train cars for them to glue on.

Ten Train Cars
- The girls each had a similar number 10 paper for counting train cars. My 3 year old had the number 10 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 10 train cars to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 10’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the T is for Tiger, Telephone, and Train Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Train Puzzles
- The girls put together the Melissa & Doug Alphabet Train puzzle to review their alphabet.
- Then they also counted the coal in the Number Train that I printed out and laminated.

Train Worksheets
- Then they did the Trace and match the train colors page. We reviewed each color and how to spell them before they traced the letters and matched them to the trains.
- She also loved cutting out the shapes and gluing them on the matching train car with this Shape Train Worksheet.

Name Train
- The girls drew train tracks on a piece of construction paper and then cut out the Name Train pieces and glued them in order on the tracks.

Active Train Play
- We found this Go Danny Chug Like a Train Dance for some active time today.

Train Books
- The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper
- Freight Train by Donald Crews
- Two Little Trains by Margaret Wise Brown
My “t” Book
- I read the My “t” Book by Jane Belk Moncure to the girls too.
