P is for Penguin (preschool)

The girls had fun learning about penguins today. They enjoyed painting and experimenting. We got our recourses for today from the P is for Penguin, Panda, Police Officer Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Penguin Science

Penguin Writing

  • The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter P. My 3 year old had a capital P and lowercase p with tracing arrows, along with an penguin to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing P’s and p’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the P is for Penguin, Panda, Police Officer Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

P is for Penguin

  • I printed this P is for Penguin Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “P” for them to paint black. After that dried they glued it to a piece of blue construction paper. Then I cut out the belly, beak and eye for them to glue on.

Six Penguins

  • The girls each had a similar number 6 paper for counting penguins. My 3 year old had the number 6 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 6 penguins to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 6’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the P is for Penguin, Panda, Police Officer Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Fish Shapes

  • I printed out the  Fish Shape Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She reviewed each shape as she matched up the shape on the fish with the matching shape on the penguin belly.

Penguin Iceberg Math

  • I got the girls these cut little penguins and froze some ice in a shallow bowl. We placed water and the iceberg in the baking pans. She used her wooden math numbers to make a simple addition problem. Then she put some penguins on 1 iceberg and the the rest of the penguins on the second iceberg.

Penguin Color Matching

  • I printed out the  Penguin Color Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She reviewed each color as she matched up the colored penguin with the matching colored igloo.

Penguin Number Order

  • I printed out the Penguin Number Order paper. Then she cut the number penguins apart and glue them in the proper order above.
