The girls had fun learning about nuts today. They really liked painting their hands and tasting nuts. We got our recourses for today from the N is for Narwhal, Nurse, Nuts Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Nut Science
- We watched this Caitie’s Classroom Let’s Pretend to be Squirrels video.
- I printed out the Types of Nuts poster for us to learn more.
- We reviewed all of the sounds we have learned so far with the Abeka Alphabet Flashcards.
- Then we tasted some nuts.

Nut Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter N. My 3 year old had a capital N and lowercase n with tracing arrows, along with a nuts to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing N’s and n’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the N is for Narwhal, Nurse, Nuts Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Painted Hand Acorn
- We painted their hands brown and then placed them on the paper. After they dried, we drew an acorn hat and colored it brown.

Counting Nuts
- I printed out the Counting Squirrels game and then cut the pieces and laminated the pieces. She counted the out some acorns as she fed them to the squirrels as she reviewed her numbers.

Seven Nuts
- The girls each had a similar number 7 paper for counting nuts. My 3 year old had the number 7 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 7 nuts to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 7’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the N is for Narwhal, Nurse, Nuts Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Acorn Shape Puzzles
- I printed out the Acorn Shape Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then the girls took turns making a match as they told me the color and shape that was on the acorn.

Nut Worksheets
- We did the I Spy the Letter N or n with a dot dauber.
- Next we cut the nuts to complete the Nut Pattern page. She points to the first nut and says it out loud, then she moves to the next nut. She continues this until she gets to the last nut and then she can usually guess the next nut correctly.
- I printed out these How Many Nuts papers. They cut out the numbers at the bottom of the paper and then counted the nuts and glued the correct number under each row of nuts.
