W is for Walrus (preschool)

The girls enjoyed learning about walruses today. They liked painting and games. We got our recourses for today from the W is for Walrus, Woodpecker & Weather Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Walrus Science

Walrus Writing

  • The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter W. My 3 year old had a capital W and lowercase w with tracing arrows, along with a walrus to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing W’s and w’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the W is for Walrus, Woodpecker & Weather Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

w is for walrus

  • I printed this w is for walrus Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the lower case “w” for them to paint brown. After that dried they glued it to a piece of blue construction paper. Then I cut out the eyes and face for them to glue on.

Eight Walruses

  • The girls each had a similar number 8 paper for counting walruses. My 3 year old had the number 8 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 8 walruses to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 8’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the W is for Walrus, Woodpecker & Weather Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Walrus Puzzle

  • I printed out the Walrus Puzzle on cardstock and then laminated it so that we can use it over and over again. Then she got to put together the walrus.

Walrus Shapes

  • I printed out the  Fish Shape Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She reviewed each shape as she matched up the shape on the fish with the matching shape on the walurs belly.

Walrus Workseet

Walrus Ten Frame

  • I printed out the Walrus Ten Frame game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she would tell me what the number is on the Walrus stomach. Then she counted out the correct number of fish to add to the ten frame.

Walrus Books

AlphaTales

We read the W book in our AlphaTales collection. The girls really enjoy these funny phonetic stories.
