V is for Veterinary (preschool)

The girls had lots of fun learning about veterinarians today. They love playing pretend vets.. We got our recourses for today from the V is for Vulture, Veterinarian & Vegetable Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Veterinarian Learning

• We read from the Abeka Preschool Language Development Cards to learn more veterinarians.
• We learned more about veterinarians by watching this I Want to be a Veterinarian video.
• We reviewed all of the sounds we have learned so far with the Abeka Alphabet Flashcards.

Veterinarian Writing

• The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter V. My 3 year old had a capital V and lowercase v with tracing arrows, along with a veterinarian to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing V’s and v’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the V is for Vulture, Veterinarian & Vegetable Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Veterinarian Check List

• I printed out the Veterinarian Check List for the girls to play with their Vet Kit and stuffed animals.

Nine Vet Animals

• The girls each had a similar number 9 paper for counting vet animals. My 3 year old had the number 9 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 9 animals to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 9’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the V is for Vulture, Veterinarian & Vegetable Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Veterinarian Worksheets

• She did her Vet Tools Shape Matching paper first.
• She likes making patterns, so I found this Vets Instruments Patterns worksheet for her to complete.
• She also Helped the Vet get to the Animals by tracing the curvy lines.
• Last she Matched the Pets to their proper Homes.

Vet Ten Frame

• I printed out the Vet Ten Frame game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she would tell me what the number is on the Boy at the vet. Then she counted out the correct number of pets to add to the ten frame.

My “v” Book

• I read the My “v” Book by Jane Belk Moncure to the girls too.

Veterinarian Field Trip

• We went to play at our local children’s museum and she loved the Veterinarian area.
