The girls had fun learning about spiders today. They enjoyed games and painting as always. We got our recourses for today from the S is for Seal, Spider, and Star Teachers Pay Teachers pack.
Spider Science
- We learned more about spiders by watching this Animals for Kids Spider video.
- We reviewed all of the sounds we have learned so far with the Abeka Alphabet Flashcards.
- I also printed out the Spider Life Cycle poster to show the girls.
Spider Science
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter S. My 3 year old had a capital S and lowercase s with tracing arrows, along with a spider to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing S’s and s’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the S is for Seal, Spider, and Star Teachers Pay Teachers pack.
s is for spider
- I printed this s is for spider Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the lower case “s” for them to paint black. After that dried they glued it to a piece of white construction paper. Then I cut out the legs and eyes for them to glue on.
Eight Spiders
- The girls each had a similar number 8 paper for counting spiders. My 3 year old had the number 8 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 8 spiders to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 8’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the S is for Seal, Spider, and Star Teachers Pay Teachers pack.
Spider Worksheets
- The learned how many legs a spider has with this Trace the Spider Legs paper.
- Then they counted How Many Spiders on each web and circled the correct number.
Spider Web Colors and Shapes
- I printed out the Spider Web Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she placed them on the spiders web.

Active Spider Play
- We found this Go Danny Little Spooky Spiders Everywhere for some active time today.
- We also liked the Caitie’s Classroom Itsy Bitsy Spider.
