S is for Seal (preschool)

The girls had fun learning about seals today. They loved the science experiment today. We got our recourses for today from the S is for Seal, Spider, and Star Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Seal Science

Seal Writing

  • The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter S. My 3 year old had a capital S and lowercase s with tracing arrows, along with a seal to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing S’s and s’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the S is for Seal, Spider, and Star Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Seal Blubber Experiment

  • The girls placed their hands bowl of ice cold water to feel how cold the North Pole might be. Then I covered their hand with shortening “blubber” and placed their hand in the bowl again. It’s not supposed to feel so cold with the “blubber” on their hand.

Seven Seals

  • The girls each had a similar number 7 paper for counting seals. My 3 year old had the number 7 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 7 seals to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 7’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the S is for Seal, Spider, and Star Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Seal Worksheets

Seal Puzzle

  • I printed out the Seal Puzzle on cardstock and then laminated it so that we can use it over and over again. Then she got to put together the seal.

Seal Ball Counting

  • I printed out the Seal Ball Counting on cardstock and then laminated it so that we can use it over and over again. Then we reviewed her numbers and she worked on placing them in numerical order on the seal’s nose.

Seal Ball Shapes

  • I printed out the  Seal Ball Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she matched up the shape balls on the nose of the seals.

Seal Books

AlphaTales

We read the S book in our AlphaTales collection. The girls really enjoy all the silly things that Seal put on the sandwich.
