The girls had fun learning about rabbits today. They enjoyed painting and play dough. We got our recourses for today from the R is for Rooster, Rabbit, and Reptile Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Rabbit Science
- We read from the Abeka Preschool Language Development Cards to learn more rabbits.
- We learned more about rabbits by watching this Animals for Kids Rabbit video.
- We reviewed all of the sounds we have learned so far with the Abeka Alphabet Flashcards.
- Then we played the Hop and Stop game.

Rabbit Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter R. My 3 year old had a capital R and lowercase r with tracing arrows, along with a rabbit to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing R’s and r’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the R is for Rooster, Rabbit, and Reptile Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

R is for Rabbit Craft
I printed this R is for Rabbit Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “R” for them to paint white. After that dried they glued it to a piece of green construction paper. Then I cut out the face, ears, feet, and tail for them to glue on.

Eight Rabbits
The girls each had a similar number 8 paper for counting rabbits. My 3 year old had the number 8 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 8 rabbits to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 8’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the R is for Rooster, Rabbit, and Reptile Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Rabbit Ten Frame
- I printed out the Rabbit Ten Frame game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she would tell me what the number is on the Mother rabbit’s carrot. Then she counted out the correct number of baby rabbits to add to the ten frame.

Rabbit Emotions
- I printed out the Rabbit Emotions Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. First we talked about different emotions and then she matched them up.

Carrot Garden Shapes
- I printed out the Carrot Garden Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she matched up the carrots with the garden.

Carrot Play Dough
- I printed out the Carrot Play Dough Mat and taught the girls how to roll the play dough into carrot shapes. She counted the carrots as she placed them on the mat.

More Rabbit Videos
- The girls liked Caitie’s Classroom ABC Hop a lot.
- We also watched The Wild Kratts Find a Jack Rabbit.
Rabbit Books
- The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter
- White Rabbit’s Colors by Alan Baker
- Snow Rabbit, Spring Rabbit by Il Sung Na
