Q is for Queen (preschool)

The girls had fun learning about queens today. They enjoyed playing with jewels and being a queen. We got our recourses for today from the Q is for Quail, Queen, and Quilt Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Queen Learning

Queen Writing

  • The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter Q. My 3 year old had a capital Q and lowercase q with tracing arrows, along with a queen to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing Q’s and q’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Q is for Quail, Queen, and Quilt Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

q is for queen

  • I printed this q is for queen Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the lower case “q” for them to paint yellow. After that dried I cut out the face and the crown for them to glue on a piece of red construction paper.

Eight Crowns

  • The girls each had a similar number 8 paper for counting crowns. My 3 year old had the number 8 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 8 crowns to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 8’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Q is for Quail, Queen, and Quilt Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Queen Crown Craft

  • I printed out the queen crown craft on cardstock for the girls to color. Then I cut them out and let them glue on a couple of gems. Last I added strips of cardstock to the sides of the crowns to fit to their heads.

Queen Color Match

  • I printed out the  Queen Color Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She reviewed each color as she matched up the colored queen with the matching colored crown.

Queen Worksheets

  • She likes making patterns, so I found this Queen Jewels Pattern worksheet for her to complete.
  • I printed out these How Many Jewels papers. They cut out the numbers at the bottom of the paper and then counted the jewels and glued the correct number under each row of jewels.
  • Then they did the Trace and match the jewel colors page. We reviewed each color and how to spell them before they traced the letters and matched them to the jewel.
  • Last she traced the shapes on the queen’s crown.

Queen Books

My “q” Book

I read the My “q” Book by Jane Belk Moncure to the girls too.
