The girls had fun learning about inchworms today. The girls enjoyed beading, measuring and painting today. We got our recourses for today from the Letter I is for Inchworm, Igloo, & Insect Preschool Pack Digital Download.
Inchworm Science
- I read the letter I from the Abeka Animal Friends Flashcards to learn more about the bees. We watched Itchy Inchworm Song to go with the card.
- She also did her Inchworm page from her Abeka Letters & Sounds for 3’s book.
- And we read the book Inch By Inch by Leo Lionni.
- She also made an inchworm craft from her Abeka Arts and Crafts with Button Bear book.
Inchworm Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter I. My 3 year old had a capital I and lowercase i with tracing arrows, along with an inchworm to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing I’s and i’s on the bottom. I is for Inchworm Craft
- I printed this I is for Inchworm Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “I” for them to paint yellow. After that dried they glued it to a piece of green construction paper. Then I cut out the head circles for them to glue on.
Two Inchworms
- The girls each had a similar number 1 paper for counting fish. My 3 year old had the number 2 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 2 inchworms to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 2’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Letter I is for Inchworm, Igloo, & Insect Preschool Pack Digital Download.
Inchworm Emotions
I printed out the Inchworm Emotions Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. First we talked about different emotions and then she matched them up.
Inchworm Tracing
- She also Helped the Inchworms reach the fruit by tracing the curvy lines
Inchworm Crawl
- First we watched a fun Inchworms video.
- I printed the Inchworm Crawl for her to pretend to be an inchworm.
Inchworm Playdough
- I printed and laminated these Inchworm Playdough sheets. They counted how many circles made up the inchworms body and then made playdough balls to place on the inchworms body.
- Next she made a long inchworm from playdough and measured it with a ruler.
Inchworm Patterns
- The girls placed pony beads onto pipe cleaners. They each chose a patter and then added 2 googly eyes when they were done.
My “i” Book
I read the My “i” Book by Jane Belk Moncure to the girls too. An astronaut helps Little a in the book.
