The girls had fun learning about fish today. They enjoyed painting and making patterns with Goldfish. We got our recourses for today from the Letter F is for Fish, Firefighter, Flower Preschool Pack Digital Download.
Fish Science
- We watched the Fish Features from The Good and the Beautiful video.
- I read the letter F from the Abeka Animal Friends Flashcards to learn more about the fish. We watched Freddy Fish Song to go with the card.
- We learned more about fish by watching this Animals for Kids Fish video.
- She also did her Fish page from her Abeka Letters & Sounds for 3’s book.
- She also made a handprint fish and glued some jewels on a page from her Abeka Arts and Crafts with Button Bear book.
Fish Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter F. My 3 year old had a capital F and lowercase f with tracing arrows, along with a fish to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing F’s and f’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Letter F is for Fish, Firefighter, Flower Preschool Pack Digital Download.
F is for Fish Craft
I printed this F is for Fish Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “F” for them to paint orange. After that dried they glued it to a piece of blue construction paper. Then I cut out the head, tail, and fin for them to glue on.
Fishbowl Shapes
I printed out the Fishbowl Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she matched up the fish with the appropriate fishbowls.
Goldfish Patterns
- We used Rainbow Goldfish to complete the Goldfish Pattern page.
One Fish
- The girls each had a similar number 1 paper for counting fish. My 3 year old had the number 1 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and a fish to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 1’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Letter F is for Fish, Firefighter, Flower Preschool Pack Digital Download.

- We read the F book in our AlphaTales collection. The girls really enjoy these funny phonetic stories.
Fish Worksheets
- She also Helped the Fisherman catch the Fish by tracing the curvy lines.
- We also used the dot dauber to Count how many fish in each fishbowl paper.
