The girls had fun learning about hummingbirds. They loved making a clothes pin hummingbird pet. We got our recourses from the Letter H is for Horse, Hummingbird, and House Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Hummingbird Science
- We read from the Abeka Preschool Language Development Cards to learn more hummingbirds.
- We learned more about hummingbirds by watching this Animals for Kids Hummingbirds video.
- I printed out the Hummingbird Life Cycle poster for the girls to study as well.
- They also love watching The Wild Kratts Hummingbird Creature Power.

Hummingbird Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter H. My 3 year old had a capital H and lowercase h with tracing arrows, along with a hummingbird to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing H’s and h’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Letter H is for Horse, Hummingbird, and House Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Hummingbird Craft
- I drew a simple hummingbird on some thick paper for the girls to paint with their watercolors.
- Next I cut them out and we glued them to a clothes pin.
- I folded the wings up and added a piece of tape across the bottom of the clothes pin.
- Now when they close the clothes pin it moves the wings up and down.

Three Hummingbird
- The girls each had a similar number 3 paper for counting hummingbirds. My 3 year old had the number 3 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and a globe to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 3’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Letter H is for Horse, Hummingbird, and House Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Hummingbird Worksheets
- She likes making patterns, so I found this Hummingbird Patterns worksheet for her to complete.
- I printed out these How Many Hummingbirds papers. They cut out the numbers at the bottom of the paper and then counted the hummingbirds and glued the correct number under each row of hummingbirds.

Hummingbird Shapes
I printed out some worksheets to review shapes. They traced the shapes that matched the flower shapes.

Hummingbird Color Match
- I printed out the Hummingbird Color Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She reviewed each color as she matched up the colored flowers with the colored hummingbird.

AlphaTales
We read the H book in our AlphaTales collection. The girls really enjoy these funny phonetic stories.
