The girls had fun learning about monkeys today. They had fun painting, playing with play dough and being monkeys on the gymnastics bar. We got our recourses for today from the M is for Monkey, Mouse / Mice, & Magnet Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Monkey Science
- I read the letter M from the Abeka Animal Friends Flashcards to learn more about the monkeys. We watched Mickey Monkey Song to go with the card.
- We learned more about monkeys by watching this M is for Monkey video.
- She also did her Monkey page from her Abeka Letters & Sounds for 3’s book.
- She also made a monkey puppet from her Abeka Arts and Crafts with Button Bear book.
- I printed out this Monkey Swing page for them to play.
- She looked at these different Monkey Cards that she liked.
- We reviewed all of the sounds we have learned so far with the Abeka Alphabet Flashcards.

Monkey Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter M. My 3 year old had a capital M and lowercase m with tracing arrows, along with a monkey to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing M’s and m’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the M is for Monkey, Mouse / Mice, & Magnet Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

M is for Monkey Craft
- I printed this M is for Monkey Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the Capitol “M” for them to paint brown. After that dried they glued it to a piece of green construction paper. Then I cut out the head, tail, and feet for them to glue on.

Fife Monkeys
- The girls each had a similar number 5 paper for counting monkeys. My 3 year old had the number 5 with tracing arrows, along with a helpful poem, and 5 monkeys to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added more tracing 5’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the M is for Monkey, Mouse / Mice, & Magnet Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Monkey Emotions
- I printed out the Monkey Emotions Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. First we talked about different emotions and then she matched them up.

Playdough Bananas
- I printed out and laminated the Monkey Play Dough Mat. She rolled yellow Play Doh into banana shapes to place the appropriate amount of bananas on each page.

More Monkey Videos
- Last we watched Danny Go Monkey Dance.
- The girls liked Caitie’s Classroom Five Little Monkeys a lot.
- We also watched The Wild Kratts Apes and Monkeys.
Monkey Swing
- The girls played “monkeys” on the gymnastic bar.

AlphaTales
- We read the M book in our AlphaTales collection. The girls really enjoy these funny phonetic stories.
