4 Year Old Snow White Preschool Photoshoot

Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is such a fun and silly movie that Storm loves. We love playing in the dvd player in the car every September to prepare her for her Snow White photoshoot!

The 7 Dwarfs have such a fun and silly time with Snow White, bringing out her motherly side. They care about her so much that they, even Grumpy, warns her to be careful of letting anyone into the house. Snow White loves taking care of them and their house, cleaning, cooking, and loving all 7 dwarfs.

My Little Storm loves being silly and she also loves being my helper in the kitchen and watching her little niece. She is still learning what it means to be a diligent worker and to be aware of strangers. She loves EVERYONE that she meets and doesn’t know a stranger! I pray that one day she will grow up learning to love like Snow White and to make the best in all circumstances.

We took these pictures out in our backyard near the woods. She loves being outside and goes out every chance that she gets. She wore her Snow White dress that I found at the resale shop after last Halloween! Her shoes are the black flats with a bow and her earrings are from a multi color pack that I bought when she was a baby. We loved these earrings because they have the twist on backing and she wore the red earrings today. The red bow in her hair came from a colorful pack of bow that I had bought when she was a baby as well. This oval gold mirror I also found at a resale store several years ago. I used the wooden brown basket to put her apples in. I always buy Red Delicious because they look the most red like in the movie.

Proverbs 31:25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

Storm has dressed as Snow White on September 17 every year of her short life!

3 Year Old Ariel Preschool Photos

Disney’s The Little Mermaid came out when I was a preteen, and therefore I loved the movie and still sing all of the songs when my daughter watches it. She was very careful not to let her Flounder Plush get wet!

Ariel is such a romantic and adventurous girl. She risks everything for a chance at adventurous love with a human. She loves her daddy and friends so much, and in the end her father gives her the best of both worlds.

Storm loves her daddy so much too. When she watches The Little Mermaid, she is very concerned when King Triton gets so angry that he destroys Ariel’s tavern. She tries to be adventurous, claiming “I do it” as much as possible. But she is still very cautions when she feels like she might be hurt or uncomfortable.

We went to play at a local beach for the day. We brought some seashells and a fork to play with in the sand. She wore an Ariel dress that was given to her last year.

Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

3 Year Old Moana Preschool Photos

She has loved the Disney Moana movie since she was a year old. She loves cuddling with her stuffed Hei Hei and Pua that she got for Christmas.

I like that Moana is a leader of her people seeking to do what is best for them. This requires her to display some extremely brave actions in the movie such as sailing through an endless ocean, confronting a demi-god, and jumping into the realm of monsters.

My Girl is definitely a leader as well; she insist on leading the way as we walk anywhere, even if she doesn’t know where we are going! And I am trying to raise her to be brave as well. One of the songs that I sing to her is to the tune of “Mary had a Little Lamb”…

“Storm is a brave girl
Brave girl, brave girl
Storm is a brave girl
She’s my big brave girl”

When she was a baby, I made this sail from 2 old pieces from out chicken coop and an old sheet that I had. I just used a staple gun to attach it. We went to a nearby lake with a beach to take the photos this year. She placed her seashells exactly how she wanted them. Storm enjoyed waving the palm leaves today while shouting, “Hosanna!”

Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

My granddaughter also joined us in our Moana fun. She is 2 years old and Storm is 3 years old. She is wearing the baby girl Moana dress that Storm wore a couple of years ago, and Storm is wearing the toddler girl Moana dress that we found a a garage sale!

3 Year Old Mulan Preschool Photos

We enjoy visiting our local Botanical Gardens Chinese festival days to take her Disney Mulan photos.

Mulan is a super independent, courageous woman. She tries to honor her father in the way that he expects, but she discovers that she can honor him in a whole new way that takes courage and independence.

Storm is also a very independent individual, constantly saying “My doos it!” She loves to play outside as much as possible and I encourage her to have courage whenever she sees a bug or jumps in the water.

We rarely purchase a brand new dress for her princess photoshoots, but this is one of the times that she did get a new dress (Mulan Dress for Girls). She loved looking at herself in the mirror before we left the house to see the “pretty princess”.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

She really enjoyed exploring the Botanical Gardens as I followed her taking pictures. I really enjoy my Canon EOS Rebel camera.

3 Year Old Tiana Preschool Photos

Disney’s The Princess and the Frog is a fun classic story. This girl thinks it is so funny that Tiana thinks it is gross to kiss a frog. I used a rubber tub toy frog when she was a baby, but this time we found a ceramic frog that fit so nicely in her hands.

Tiana is such an inspiring princess for children to learn the value of hard work and big dreams.  She sets out with a precise plan to own and run her very own restaurant through her hard work, but she ends up accomplishing her dreams taking another path (but still with hard work).

One thing that I try to teach my kids is that you need to work hard to get what you desire in life, but to also be flexible and creative.  If things aren’t going your way, then use your brilliant mind to solve the puzzles that life throws at you.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This is the dress that I made for her last 2 year Tiana pictures. With colored tulle tied to the baby stretch crochet hair bands. Then I cut felt and glued it to the front. We went to a local park that had a pond and small gazebo for this photoshoot.

3 Year Old Jasmine Preschool Photos

We love the Disney Aladdin movie, from the songs to the animals!

What I love about Jasmine is her generosity and her integrity.  She cares about her people and doesn’t like to see the poor go hungry.  She gives the apple to the hungry children with no thought about the consequences.  She knows what’s right and wants to make her own decisions.

Storm is so kind and generous too, she is constantly wanting to share her things with others.  She tries to give her stuffy to her best friend, and share her food with everyone!  I also spend a lot of time teaching my children to stand up for what is right and to live with integrity.  We read the Bible and discuss what we read to help us learn right from wrong. One of the songs that I sing to her is to the tune of “Mary had a Little Lamb”…

“Storm is a kind girl
Kind girl, kind girl
Storm is a kind girl
She’s my kind, kind girl”

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Tiger is Storm’s favorite animal and she got a giant tiger for Christmas. Every time we go to the zoo she just talks about the tigers. I broke down and bought her a brand new Jasmine Costume this year. The rest of the props and back drops are all from thrift shops.

3 Year Old Rapunzel Preschool Photos

Tangled is a family favorite for our house, the entire movie is great and upbeat!

Rapunzel is a sweet passionate girl who always keeps her word.  She tries to be happy in all situations but also has hopes and desires. She outgoing and friendly with everyone, even the strange looking ruffians in the bar.  I also love her innocents of the worldly things she encounters.

Just like Rapunzel, Storm doesn’t know a stranger.  Ever since she was a baby she would reach and point to people whenever we are out and about.  Now she is always giving hugs to people that she knows, she is a very sweet and thoughtful girl.

Psalm 46:5 “God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.”

We went to an entrance to a subdivision that had these cute little towers this year for her Rapunzel photos. I painted a sun on the tiny frying pan when she was a toddler for her photos, I printed out a picture of Flynn Rider on some resume paper to give it an old look, and I found this neat candle lantern at a thrift store. She is wearing a Rapunzel dress that we found at a yard sale too.

3 Year Old Elsa Preschool Photos

Storm loves Frozen like every other young girl. She likes the snow and the thought winter. She wanted to take her Stuffed Olaf outside with us to.

Elsa is extremely protective of her loved ones, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness. She is a very powerful young lady at the same time as having kind spirit.

Storm also is very powerful (I describe her as my Perfect Storm), and empathetic of other’s feelings as well.

Matthew 19:26 “With God all things are possible.”

Lucky for us it snowed yesterday, so we got to take her Elsa pictures outside this year. She used an Elsa dress that someone had given to us last year.

3 Year Old Belle Preschool Photos

Beauty and the Beast is probably one of my favorite Disney movies, and Storm looked so beautiful in her yellow dress. My husband got me this Chip tea cup for Christmas a couple years ago!

Belle is curious for adventure and is capable of seeing past the rough exterior of the Beast. She is a strong woman who stands up for herself to the gossiping town folk, Gaston, and the Beast. She also gives her life to save her father’s.

I try to teach Storms that beauty is more than skin deep. Storm is also a strong girl who is not afraid of anybody. Bugs, sure she’s afraid; but not of people. She will speak to all people no matter how they look. I often sing her a song of encouraging qualities to the tune of “Mary had a Little Lamb”…

“Storm is a strong girl
Strong girl, strong girl
Storm is a strong girl
She’s a so strong girl”

Proverbs 31:26 “When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.”

Her beautiful yellow dress was given to us when she was a baby, and I’ve been saving it for her. I made the fire place out of some diaper boxes last Christmas and took the girls pictures in front of it. The Bible that she is holding is my favorite Thomas Kinkade Bible. and the rest of the props came from the local thrift store a few years ago.

3 Year Old Pocahontas Preschool Photos

Pocahontas is the only Disney princess based on a real person. I love this story; even though it isn’t historically accurate, it is still a fun way to introduce young children to a real princess. The animals made a fun addition as well.

Pocahontas means “Little Mischief”, which fits with her playful and adventurous self. She respects nature and seeks peace for her people. She teaches John Smith about respecting nature and so it can take care for humans as well. And she also tells her father, the chief, that they can live in peace with the Europeans.

Storm is definitely mischievous as well, she also loves to adventure outdoors too. She plays outside as much as possible and is always bringing me nature treasures that she finds.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I found this Pocahontas dress at a local resale store after Halloween. I was so excited, it was just in time for her pictures. We also used fabric sunflowers in these photos, and shot them in our front yard.
