She in now 6 years old, and loves rainbows! She saw a rainbow cake and asked to have one for her birthday, so that’s what she got.


We mixed up 2 boxed of cake mix and divided it into 6 different bowls to make the colors. I used a bit of food coloring in each bowl to made the desired colors. I used my homemade butter cream between the layers of cake and on the outside of the cake. We added rainbow sprinkles to the outside of the cake and dyed some more buttercream to make the rainbow on the top of the cake.






Buttercream Icing
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup Crisco
- 4 cups powdered sugar (2 lbs)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 tablespoon milk (if thick)
Directions:
- Cream together the butter and Crisco with a mixer.
- Slowly add in 1 cup of powdered sugar at a time.
- Add the vanilla, if it seems too thick you can add a bit of milk.
We had some fun taking her picture in the back yard with a cute outfit and curly hair.
