Talk Like a Pirate Day Lunch

September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. We made a fun pirate themed lunch for the kids at school. The lunch staff also wore pirate hats and we bought eye patches for the kids.

Sea Shaped Fish Nuggets

Our food supplier doesn’t have fish sticks, but they do have fish nuggets in the shape of sea creatures.

Treasure Map Cheese Sticks

We just used Sharpies to draw a red X on the cheese sticks with black dotted lines for the trail.

Pirates Booty Puffs

We bought small bags of Pirates Booty Aged White Cheddar corn puffs. The kids laughed when we announced “Pirates Booty”!

Pirate Ship Jello Cups

We placed blue Jello in the bottom of clear plastic cups and added an orange wedge on the top. Then we added a Pirate Flag to the orange wedge to look like a Pirate ship.

Carrot Stick Planks

We cup up carrot sticks and called them “Carrot Planks”.

1 Month September Apples Baby Photos

Baby is now a month old. Since it is September, I had fun taking apple pictures with my little dumplin! We went out in the back yard with an apple pail that I found at a Goodwill last month.

I love the sweet smile that she gave me in the above picture!

The green blanket matched very well with the grass and the apples.

I absolutely love it when she crosses her tiny feet at the ankles showing her cute little toes!

Her red bow (from her Snow White outfit) went very well with her red tutu and the red apples.

1 Month Snow White Baby Photos

Baby is 1 month new, so I took Snow White photos. It was a beautiful day outside for the photo shoot, and someone was running a chainsaw nearby. The chainsaw humming kept her asleep for most of the photos! I am very pleased with how they turned out!

Be sure to always have someone nearby the baby if you are not taking the pictures on the ground. This log is in our back yard and I love the way she’s laying with her fluffy tutu booty up in the air!

I found this mirror at a garage sale last summer, but I had a hard time placing her in a good position to see her reflection while she is laying down.

She absolutely hated when her feet would touch the bed frame (she would wake up and cry each time); so I placed the green blanket wherever her feet were. This is the same bed that I used in her Newborn Sleeping Beauty photos.

I just love when she pulls her feet under her body and lays like this! She’s just so adorable!

First Vegetable Garden

I love gardening! We got to plant a cute little vegetable garden this year. It was such a great learning experience for J as well, he loved it too!

Planting

We planted in early May!

Lettuce Harvest

Our garden is doing great this Summer. Our lettuce is ready in June.

Tomato Harvest

It’s July and our tomatoes are gigantic!

Cantaloupe Harvest

August harvest is cantaloupe… J’s favorite!

Watermelon Harvest

Our watermelons took the longest… but here in September they are finally ready!

We loved having a garden this summer!

Toddler Fall Portraits

I love fall in the Midwest with all of the colored leaves. J is loving the weather too, since he likes playing outside so much! I followed him around trying to get some cute photos as he explored.

We took some fall pictures, he was much more cooperative than I thought he would be. He like’s trying to play with the trees, rocks, and leaves. He even posed by the tree with his hand on it for me, and sitting in front of it.

22 months old now.
