F is for Fish (preschool)

The girls had fun learning about fish today. They enjoyed painting and making patterns with Goldfish. We got our recourses for today from the Letter F is for Fish, Firefighter, Flower Preschool Pack Digital Download.

  • The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter F. My 3 year old had a capital F and lowercase f with tracing arrows, along with a fish to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing F’s and f’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the Letter F is for Fish, Firefighter, Flower Preschool Pack Digital Download.

F is for Fish Craft

I printed this F is for Fish Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “F” for them to paint orange. After that dried they glued it to a piece of blue construction paper. Then I cut out the head, tail, and fin for them to glue on.

I printed out the  Fishbowl Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she matched up the fish with the appropriate fishbowls.

I printed this e is for Egg Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the lower case “e” for them to paint yellow (for the egg yoke). After that dried they glued it to a piece of blue construction paper. Then I cut out the egg shell for them to glue on.

The girls use the Egg Names paper to practice making their names.

Frying Egg Shapes

I printed out the Frying Pan Egg Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she matched up the egg yokes to the frying egg whites.

My “e” Book

I read the My “a” Book by Jane Belk Moncure to the girls too. An astronaut helps Little a in the book.

Elk Color Matching

I printed out the  Elk Color Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She reviewed each color as she matched up the colored flower with the elk with the matching colored flower in his mouth.

Playdough Trees

I printed out and laminated  the Forest Play Dough Mats. She rolled out green Play Doh  and used a triangle  cookie cutters to place the appropriate amount of trees in each forest. They also tried making tall 3D trees.

Elk Tracks

  • I printed out the Elk Tracks Pages for her to follow the elk tracks to the forest.

Elk Hat

  • First the girls cut out 2 large brown circles from construction paper. Then I traced their hands on yellow construction paper and cut them out. We glued 2 brown circle slightly above the other for the head, and then glued the yellow hands in the back for the antlers. Next I cut out 2 long brown strips and stapled them to the elk’s head to make a headband. They each drew a face on their elk’s head.
  • Or you can print out this Elk Headband. Color it and print it out to make a headband.

I printed this E is for Elephant craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “E” for them to paint gray. They also painted the ear and trunk. After that dried they glued it to a piece of red construction paper. Then I cut out the tail and eyes for them to glue on.

Elephant Color Match

  • I printed out the Elephant Color Match, and cut them out. I laminated them and the cut them again. Then we turned them all upside down and took turns flipping to try to find matching colors. They are getting good at playing this game now.

Elephant Stomp

  • We talked about how elephants walk on their tip toes, and the babies use their trunks to hold the mom’s tails. We looked at the Elephant Stomp poster, as they walked like elephants.

Counting Peanuts

  • I printed out the Counting Peanuts game and then cut the pieces and laminated the pieces. She counted the peanuts as she fed them to the elephant.

  • I printed out the  Carrot Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she fed the donkey.

Donkey Color Match

  • I printed out the Donkey Color Match game, and cut them out. I laminated them and the cut them again. Then we turned them all upside down and took turns flipping to try to find matching colors. They enjoyed this game, and did great taking turns.

Kicking Donkey

  • I printed out the Kicking Donkey craft and let the girls color it however they wanted. Then I cut out the pieces and fastened the legs with some brass fasteners. I then attached a jumbo craft stick to the back for the girls to wave back and forth to make their donkeys kick.

Farm Field Trip

The girls were excited to see a donkey on our last field trip to the pumpkin patch.

  • We also printed out the  Car Number Roads  and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She used these Mini Pull Back Cars to drive on the roads. I used a Sharpie to write a number on the top of each car because we use these in my Kindergarteners Math Box too. She wanted to drive the car with the matching number on the appropriate road.
