The girls had fun learning about donkeys today. They learned that Jesus rode on a donkey and love painting as always. We got our recourses for today from the D is for Donkey, Doctor, Dog Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Donkey Science
- Then we watched the Why are Donkeys Special video.
- I read the letter D from the Abeka Animal Friends Flashcards to learn more about donkeys. We watched Dexter Donkey Song to go with the card.
- She also did her Donkey page from her Abeka Letters & Sounds for 3’s book.

Donkey Kick
- We talked about how donkeys kick and looked at the Donkey Kick poster. They put her hands on the floor and tried to kick both feet at the same time. They learned about this donkey kick at gymnastics class last week too.
Donkey Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter D. My 3 year old had a capital D and lowercase d with tracing arrows, along with a donkey to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing D’s and d’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the D is for Donkey, Doctor, Dog Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

D is for Donkey Craft
- I printed this d is for Donkey Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the lower case “d” and the legs for them to paint gray. After that dried they glued it to a piece of green construction paper. Then I cut out the head and tail for them to glue on.

The King on a Donkey
- I read The King on a Donkey to the girls and then we watched the Bible App The Donkey and the King video.

Carrot Shapes
- I printed out the Carrot Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she fed the donkey.

Donkey Color Match
- I printed out the Donkey Color Match game, and cut them out. I laminated them and the cut them again. Then we turned them all upside down and took turns flipping to try to find matching colors. They enjoyed this game, and did great taking turns.

Kicking Donkey
- I printed out the Kicking Donkey craft and let the girls color it however they wanted. Then I cut out the pieces and fastened the legs with some brass fasteners. I then attached a jumbo craft stick to the back for the girls to wave back and forth to make their donkeys kick.

Farm Field Trip
The girls were excited to see a donkey on our last field trip to the pumpkin patch.
