The girls had fun learning about dogs today. They really liked learning about different dog breeds, hide and seek, and painting. We got our recourses for today from the D is for Donkey, Doctor, Dog Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

Dog Science
- Then we watched the Baby Animal Puppies from The Good and the Beautiful video.
- We read from the Abeka Preschool Language Development Cards to learn more dogs and different dog breeds.
- We learned more about dogs by watching this Animals for Kids Dogs video.
- She also did her Dog pages from her Abeka Letters & Sounds for 3’s book.
- I printed the Dog Breed Cards for her to play with and learn about.

Dog Writing
- The girls each had a similar writing paper for the letter D. My 3 year old had a capital D and lowercase d with tracing arrows, along with a dog to color. The 5 year old had the same paper, but added a short poem and more tracing D’s and d’s on the bottom. I found both of these in the D is for Donkey, Doctor, Dog Teachers Pay Teachers pack.

D is for Dog Craft
- I printed this D is for Dog Craft onto cardstock for the girls to paint. I cut out the capital “D” for them to paint brown. After that dried they glued it to a piece of pink construction paper. Then I cut out the face parts and the tail for them to glue on.

Dog Worksheets
- She also Helped the Dog get His Food by tracing the curvy lines.
- We did the I Spy the Letter D or d with a dot dauber.
- She cut out the puppies and matched them under their matching momma dog with this Dog Match Activity Page.

Dog Shapes
- I printed out the Dalmatian Spot Shape game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. Then she reviewed her shapes as she matched up the shape spots to the appropriate Dalmatian.

Dog Counting
- I printed out the Dog Bone Counting game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. She counted how many bones on each piece and then matched it up to the matching number.

Active Dog Play
- We found this Go Danny Animal Shelter for some active time today.
AlphaTales
- We read the D book in our AlphaTales collection. The girls really enjoy these funny phonetic stories. This one is about a detective dog that loves donoughts.
Dog Emotions
- I printed out the Dog Emotions Matching game and then cut the pieces and laminated them. First we talked about different emotions and then she matched them up.

Dogs Colorful Day Match
- We read Dogs Colorful Day by Emma Dodd. I printed out the colorful bones and laminated them to hide around the room. The girls loved finding them and telling the puppy Dalmatian what color his bone is when they fed it to him.
