Renaissance Artists Unit Study

We did our Renaissance Artists Unit Study with cousins, so it was even more fun for J.  The ages were Preschool through 2nd grade, but would work better for older ages I think.  We learned about 7 of the more well known Renaissance Artists.

Artists Journal

We found some notebooks at Target that had space at the top of each page for a drawing so we turned them into out Artists Journals.Renaissance Art Study (4)

Paint Pallet Cookies

Materials:

  • Roll of sugar cookie dough
  • Colored Frosting

Directions:

  1. Take out the roll of sugar cookie dough and cut a slice along the long side.Renaissance Art Study (87)
  2. Gently spread the cut open a bit.
  3. Spray your cookie sheet.
  4. Slice the dough into cookies and place them on a cookie sheet.
  5. With a toothpick make a little hole in each cookie next to the cut.Renaissance Art Study (88)
  6. Bake them according to the directions.
  7. Place little bits of colored frosting around the edge without the hole.Renaissance Art Study (1)
