Eric Carle Day 1: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

I love this classic children’s book and so do my boys.  We had a snack, story sequencing, games, and crafts. It was so much fun doing these activities to my nieces and nephews who range in age from 5 months old to 6 and a half years old.

(sung to the tune of the Adams Family theme song)

Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap, snap)
There’s Sunday and there’s Monday
There’s Tuesday and there’s Wednesday
There’s Thursday and there’s Friday
And then there’s Saturday
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap, snap)

Story Sequencing

I taped a caterpillar outline around the Pringles can.  Then I glued the food pictures onto milk caps.  The children took turns feeding the caterpillar as I read the story again.Eric Carle Study -Bekah (54)
